Angel and Oscar's Wedding

About one month ago, I had the privilege of being Maid of Honor at my cousin's 400+ person wedding. Two "already big" families fused into one monstrously huge village of people, making for the most beautiful, well organized, smooth, rowdy, loud, and hands-down most enjoyable wedding I've ever attended. Without a doubt, I have the most amazing family. Ever.

Always a Bridesmaid

My second wedding of the year is right around the corner; and as maid-of-honor, it was my duty to host an unbelievably crowded bridal shower. We kept it classy and traditional, and everyone ended up having a heaping of fun (especially the bride!). The game I find that most people enjoy is the toilet paper bridal gown - where you work in teams of 4-5 to make a dress of TP. And so comes in Sophia (above), who in my opinion should have won strictly out of cuteness, but instead came in as runner up. Don't you just want to hug/pinch her!?

My Best Friend's Wedding

Updated 05/24/06 10:03PM:
As promised, more photos! Do I not deliver, or what? Actually, I stole these off of Christy's MySpace... lovely lovely lovely!

Original Post 05/24/06 6:20PM:
The kind of guy who runs to your side when your car breaks down; who's never late for a dinner date and movie; who invites you to every event he plans on attending (even though he knows you'll say no); who takes you out for ice cream every time someone breaks your heart; who buys you m&m's every time he sees some; who cooks you dinner, even if he's engaged to be married; who does the dumbest, but most lovable impression of your mom; who runs to pep-boys and purchases parts for your car (without having to ask); who goes out of his way to make sure you're alright; who gets out of his car to pick you up at your door; and is simply, the only man I know who still opens the door for a woman... the one who comes to your rescue... always...

That's the kind of friend Forbey is.

And to see every one of his dreams come true... the day that Christy walked down the isle to be his wife... damn. It took my breath away. The garden ceremony was lovely... with the white fold-out chairs and gazebo on a grassy knoll. The reception was fun... we line danced and YMCA'd the night away. And Russ' best-man's toast made me weep like an infant child! He finally did it... he lived his happily ever after.

My opportunity to take pictures was limited (obviously)... but I promise to post more when the bride shares her professional photographs. Some of her ideas were flat-out original, and oh-so cute! Congrats Josh and Christy!

Christy's Bridal Shower

Christy's bridal shower went by smoothly (whew). I've got to give myself kudos for the decorations and the color theme. The clubhouse ended up looking pretty awesome for having been put together within just a few short weeks. The maid of honor took lead on the games and the meet-n-greets, and I just sat back and enjoyed my short-lived (and pro-bono) career as an event planner. When I get married (eons, eons away), my bridal shower will knock your socks off. Is it sad that I have it already planned?

Bridal Shower Invitations

Get dolled up and clear the date, and join as as we celebrate! The Groom's best friend (and bridesmaid, that'd be me) and the Bride's best friend (and Maid of Honor, Diana) are in the planning stages of the best bridal shower that '07 will ever come to know. Lucky for [control freak] me, Diana was in agreement with the theme I picked out: there will be no theme. Instead, we're utilizing a color scheme of pink, black, and white. In lieu of corny decorations, we'll be using punches of color to set a tasteful mood. Ever so inspired by the awesome invitations ($$$) I ordered for the big day before the 'big day'!

Engagement Photos

I've done freelance photography for a while now, so when Josh and Christy requested I take their engagement photos, I jumped at the chance! He's my best friend, so the shoot was free - of course! The set came out amazing!
